Klein Oak Theatre Booster Club Scholarship Application
The KOT Booster Club has proudly joined with KOT students, faculty, parents, and local businesses to volunteer time and financially support the Klein Oak Theatre Department. As a part of this support, the KOT Booster Club is offering scholarships to Class of 2025 Graduating Theatre Students. Student Scholarships of $500.00 will be funded by the KOT Booster Club, and made payable directly to recipients.
Eligibility:

Scholarships are limited to Klein Oak High School Theatre Seniors.

Applicants need to have participated in Klein Oak Theatre for a minimum of three (3) years.

Applicants need to have participated in a minimum of four (4) KOH Theatre productions.
No candidate shall be denied a scholarship on the basis of race, creed, sex, religion, national origin, or any other characteristics as prohibited by Section 501 (C) (3) of The Internal Revenue Code.
Application:
For a student to qualify, the attached application forms must be filled out entirely and include a copy of the applicant’s essay (500 words or less). Complete Student Application Forms and Essay are then to be emailed directly to: KOTBscholarships@gmail.com

Student Essay:
Student applicant should answer the following prompt:
“Every artist was first an amateur.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Discuss how Theatre Arts has helped you develop as a person,and supported your overall education. Describe the importance of funding a theatre art program for future Klein Oak High School students.
Application Deadline:
Applications must be submitted in digital format and received before Monday, April 14, 2025 at 9:00pm. Applications received after this date/time will not be considered.
Judging:
Applications will be reviewed for eligibility upon receipt (criteria provided above), and all eligible applications will be assigned an anonymous application code to be used for judging. Coded applications, free of all personal data (such as student and/or parent name(s), contact information, etc..), will be sent to a panel of independent, third-party judges; which are not to include: Klein ISD Faculty/Staff, KOT Booster Club Board Members or KOT Members at Large, nor relatives of any Klein ISD students. Coded Activity Lists and Essays will be read and scored by the panel of judges per the assigned rubric. The top scoring applications will be determined and awarded scholarships. Student information from the coded winner applications will be placed in sealed envelopes to be announced at the Klein Oak Theatre Banquet on Friday, May 9, 2025.
